Location Data: GPS location for event navigation and recommendations.
Usage Data: App interactions, preferences, and activity logs.
Messaging Data: Stored for 12 months for security and moderation.
Buy&Sell Listing Data: listing title, description, photos/videos, price, category, and any other information you choose to include in a listing.
Buy&Sell Interaction Data: searches, views, saves/favourites, and interactions with listings.
Trust & Safety Data: reports submitted by users, moderation actions, and related logs used to detect scams, prohibited items, and harmful behaviour.
Payment Data: TorqueBase does not process payments for Buy&Sell transactions and does not collect or store card details for Buy&Sell transactions.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

Enable community interactions and messaging.
Operate Buy&Sell features (display listings, enable discovery, and facilitate user-to-user messaging).
Improve app security and performance.
Prevent, detect, and respond to scams, fraud, prohibited items, and harmful behaviour.
Ensure compliance with laws and safety policies, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

3. Data Retention Policy

Account data: Retained while active, deleted after 24 months of inactivity.
Location data: Stored for 6 months, then anonymised.
Messages: Retained for 12 months for moderation.
Buy&Sell listings: Retained while active and for a reasonable period after removal to support safety, fraud prevention, and enforcement of Terms.
Reports and trust & safety logs: Retained for a reasonable period to detect repeat offending, enforce Terms, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
Service Providers: Hosting, analytics, customer support.
Third-Party Integrations: Google Maps, Apple Maps, login providers.
We may also share or display certain information to other users as part of TorqueBase features (including Buy&Sell), such as:
- your public profile information (e.g., username and profile picture)
- your Buy&Sell listings (including photos/videos, description, and price)
We may disclose information to law enforcement or regulators where required or authorised by law, or where necessary to protect users and the integrity of the platform.

5. User Rights (GDPR & Australian Privacy Act 1988 Compliance)

You have the right to:

Access your data.
Correct inaccuracies.
Request deletion of your account.
Opt out of targeted data processing.

6. Security Measures

We implement encryption, firewalls, and access controls to protect data.

7. Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) Scheme Compliance

If a data breach occurs, we will:

Assess the impact.
Notify affected users.
Report it to authorities if required.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies to:

Store login sessions.
Personalise recommendations.

9. Location Data Handling & Opt-Out

Users can disable location tracking, but some features may not function properly.

10. Children’s Privacy

TorqueBase is not for users under the age of 17 (seventeen). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17 years of age. If we become aware that a user is under 17 years of age, we may suspend/terminate the account and delete associated personal information and content in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
